Things I have learnt

Things I have learnt over the last week:

1. You can pretty much watch Everybody loves Raymond and Big Bang Theory 24 hours a day on US TV

 2. You can purchase Calvin Klein denim casuals for $16.00 at Century 21

 3. US Snacks come in huge containers - explains a lot

4. New Yorkers really do wear gumboots when it rains - even in 36 degree heat

5. New York Humidity and my hair don't  get along

6. I have worked out why the US economy is in dire straits - it is due to the amount of plastic bags they give out to shoppers on a daily basis.  I purchased one can, 2 envelopes and some chewy at Kmart today and they gave the goods to me in 4 bags - they double bag everything, even the fricken envelopes.  I am becoming more savvy and have started stating I don't need a bag - the attendants looked shocked and confused!  I must email Obama!

7. Sex and the City 2 is not any better the second time around (even when watching it at 3am with jet lag)

8. Guys on the street should not ask for a dollar after telling a woman that she is beautiful - it kind of wrecks the compliment

9. Sometimes it is hard to tell if a person at the gym is a man or woman - I stared and just could not pick it!

10. You can pretty much buy a doughnut or bagel every 5 meters in Manhattan
