Brooklyn Bridge
I found I had just missed one bus so had to line up in the hot sun and wait 30 mins for the next departure but at least I was close to the front of the line and thus guaranteed a great spot on the top of the double decker bus....... or so I thought.
The bus came, I got on, great roadside edge seat, every one else got on and then it happened..... over the speaker the tour guide asked for any singles to please move as there was a couple who wanted to sit together. There was one other single on the bus - an older guy - everyone looked at me with their 'you really should move' eyes......I stood up and the tour guide yelled on his microphone "thank you single one" and the whole bus clapped me........ to make it worse the old guy I sat next to had a pony tail and proceeded to talk to me throughout the tour calling me 'my friend' and the lady in front suggested that sitting to next to him may mean I am no longer single.... what the!
Who says couples cant sit apart...
Let's just say I was not his friend and that tour guide did not get the recommended tip, in fact no tip.
