Lincoln Square walk a thon

Hot , raining and humid in NYC - really sticky so what better day to get my walk on!

I wanted to visit the upper west side as I had not been there before;  in particular the Lincoln Square Neighbourhood which starts at west 60th and runs through to west 72 - west of Central park.

Along the way I waltzed through Grammercy which is so sweet it has a private park which means you are only given a key to the park if you live on the perimeter,  suffice to say I only found this out after trying every gate and lock in the park to get in, duh!

Now 40 blocks on I arrive at Columbus Circle which is the start of Lincoln Square neighbourhood - below is the Time Warner Building Globe sculpture.

The Lincoln Sqare neighbourhood is also known as the arts precinct - it is home to the New York Ballet and all things art.

The Juilliard School is where all the talented musician and dancers come from - coveted school to be in for the arts field also it is where Rachael from Glee wanted to get into.

The architecture in NYC never stops to amaze me - this large block of apartments is just amazing - the photo does not do it any justice at all,
So overall a part of the city worth visiting  I basically stuck to Broadway all the way and came back the other side of the street - all the usual stores plus a few boutiques - I will definitely go back to the Upper West side and it would be a nice place to live , form what I have been told the apartments are a little bigger and affordable in this area as well - maybe only $4000 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment - yes, $4000!
